June 11th is the date that will begin my journey to France. I will try to use this blog as a way to let everyone that I love in the States to see what I am doing. For the majority of this summer, I will be in Avignon France and I am so excited in addition to nervous.
My first few days in France will be spent in Paris, with some family that live there, and then I will take the train to Avignon. I have no clue what to expect once I am in Avignon, minus having a host family and attending classes. I also know that my regular attire in the States will not be acceptable in France. Goodbye cut sweatshirts, t-shirts, athletic shorts, and non-fancy flip flops. I will dearly miss thee!
I am so nervous that I will forget how to speak French, and be categorized as an ugly American. No offense to us or them, everyone has their own perceptions. Aside from typical nerves and me having the occasional freak-out over everything, I know I will have an amazing time while overseas.
I have waited almost twenty-one years to go abroad and it is finally happening. I cannot believe it, but at least my brother cannot poke fun at my majors because I will finally be going beyond the States. I honestly cannot wait to experience both Paris and Avignon.
